Hi, I'm Yolande.
I've experienced this journey from both sides of the table, and that's changed everything about the way I work.
I've spent the past 18 years supporting children and families as a speech pathologist.
I'm also a mum to three neurodivergent children.
I've experienced school meetings from both sides. I've celebrated breakthroughs in the clinic and navigated the hard days at home. Those experiences have shaped not only who I am, but how I support families today.
Why I Do This Work
I've sat on the floor outside a classroom at 2:00PM, trying to help a child through a meltdown - while a teacher looked at me like I should've had this fixed by now.
And I've sat in that exact same meltdown as the parent. At home. Wondering if I was the one getting it wrong.
Both of those moments live in me. They're honestly why I do what I do.
I've spent my career working with families across the lifespan, including a huge amount of time out bush in remote communities, and somewhere along the way I stopped believing in therapy that never ends.
I don't have a crystal ball, and I won't ever promise you a fix - but I believe, completely, that you are your child's greatest teacher. Not me. But YOU.
I bring the clinical knowledge, but I also bring the version of me that's still figuring it out in real time, three kids in, most days in my running shoes because that's where my own brain gets quiet enough to think.
This Space Exists for the Parent Who...
Is up Googling at 11:00PM because the questions don't stop when the appointments end.
Walks out of school meetings replaying everything that was said, and everything they wish they'd said.
Is tired of translating therapy reports, recommendations and school-speak into real life.
Wants practical strategies, not another impossible checklist.
Is trying to understand their child's world while navigating everyone else's expectations.
Is learning to advocate for their child, even when it feels uncomfortable.
Wants calmer, more connected days at home.
Needs someone to say, "This is hard. You're not failing. And here's something that might actually help."
If that sounds like your kind of village, I'm so glad you're here.

My Approach
Everything I do is built around three key values.
Advocacy
Equipping parents with the knowledge, language and confidence to advocate for their child across schools, services and everyday life.
Education
Turning evidence, research and nearly two decades of speech pathology experience into practical, everyday strategies that fit real family life.
empowerment
Helping parents build the knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions, trust their instincts and advocate for what their child needs.
What You Can Expect
When you work with me, you'll find:
Evidence-informed guidance without overwhelming jargon.
Practical strategies you can actually use at home.
Neuroaffirming support that respects your child.
Honest conversations—even when the answer isn't simple.
Encouragement without judgement.
A focus on building your confidence, not your dependence.
Trail running is my thing — not because I'm fast, but because it's the only place my busy brain actually goes quiet
I’m a firm believer in "kids do well if they can," not "if they want to"
I measure success by how little you need me over time, not how often you come back
Always got a book on the go, and always up for a recommendation
My humour leans dry and wry — mostly aimed at the systems that make this stuff harder than it needs to be
Genuinely proud of the work I get to do out bush — some of the most important work of my career happens there
